Gavin has worked as a stonemason since completing his apprenticeship in 1982. When Gavin and his wife bought a doll's house for their daughter they couldn't find a real stone or marble fireplaces, so he decided to employ his skills as a stonemason in miniature. These fireplaces are the real thing; he uses the same raw natural materials, and his working methods and attention to detail is just as it would be for a full size design.
